The Start of Another School Year - Welcome Back Everyone!

Welcome back to all the boys and girls after the summer holidays!😀

We are really excited to be back together again and we are looking forward to a fun filled year in 1st Class.🌈

In between all the hard work we do in 1st Class we will take regular breaks in the form of GoNoodle movement breaks, Cosmic Kids Yoga and Busy Breaks! Here we are doing some Cosmic Kids Yoga. Don't we look nice and relaxed!

Garden Bird Projects

We are practising many skills during our garden bird groupwork projects. We are learning how to source information, rewrite key facts in our own words as well as building on sharing, listening, taking turns and working together. We are having great fun and we are learning lots about birds we see in our gardens and school grounds. Stay tuned for the finished projects!

Soil Experiment

We had great fun doing some outdoor learning in the sunshine. We worked in groups to collect a soil sample. We added water and waited patiently to see what would happen. We learned that soil is made up of lots of different materials and were amazed to see the different soil layers that settled in our jars. We even spotted some worms and a baby snail! It was very cool!

St Brigid's Crosses

Spring is here and we celebrated the feast of St Brigid by making St Brigid's crosses. We learned the story of St Brigid and sang Brigid's special song "We Sing a Song to Brigid."
