Grandparents' Day

We really enjoyed having our grandparents in for Grandparents' Day. Here is some of the art work we prepared for them. We had plenty of chats about why we love our grandparents and loved performing some poems and songs for them on the day. We particularly enjoyed seeing them when they came to visit our classrooms.

St Brigid's Crosses

Spring is here and we celebrated the feast of St Brigid by making St Brigid's crosses. We learned the story of St Brigid and sang Brigid's special song "We Sing a Song to Brigid."

Tens and Units

We have begun learning all about tens and units and have fun using our place value mats and dienes cubes to make different numbers.

Rosary Beads

We have been learning how to pray the Rosary. We even made our own mini set of Rosary Beads to help us pray a decade of the Rosary.

Report Writing

We have been learning all about the report writing genre. We have written reports on animals, a country and a famous scientist. Take a look at a sample of our work...

3D Shapes

We have been exploring and investigating 3D Shapes. We made our own 3D shapes and figured out if they can slide, roll, stack and counted the number of sides and faces each one has.

Christmas Festivities!

Winter is here.

We have been chatting about and looking out for signs of winter. Here we are painting Santa's little helper the robin.

Science Week

We had great fun during Science week in First Class. We made sail cars and tested which ones would  travel the furthest, we did an eggs-tra bounce experiment, we made our own lava lamps and got to visit the 3rd and 4th class science fair where they showed us lots of different science experiments. We learned a lot from them.
