First Holy Communion

Image
The children in 2nd Class have worked incredibly hard in preparation for their First Holy Communion. Over many weeks, they learned their prayers and practiced their jobs so well. They developed a deeper understanding of the sacrament too by listening and participating fully in our Grow in Love lessons.  The big day was a wonderful celebration for the children, their families and the school community. The children represented themselves with great pride, reverence and maturity, and participated beautifully in the ceremony. It was a joyful and memorable occasion, and we are so proud of all they achieved. Congratulations to all our First Holy Communion children on this very special milestone!

Touch Typing

The children in 2nd Class have recently begun learning how to touch type using the online programme TypingClub. They have been introduced to the correct finger placement on the keyboard and are learning how to use both hands when typing. The interactive lessons and games have made learning fun and engaging, and the children have enjoyed practising their new skills. Although they are only at the beginning of their touch-typing journey, they are already developing greater confidence in using a keyboard and are excited to continue improving. We look forward to building on these important digital skills as the weeks progress.

Sailboat Learning

The girls and boys in 2nd Class recently became engineers and scientists as they explored the fascinating world of sailboats. We learned about the different parts of a sailboat and discovered how sails use the power of the wind to help boats move across the water. The children then put their learning into action by designing and building their own sailboats using a variety of recyclable materials. They carefully considered which materials would float, how to make their boats balanced and how to create sails that would catch the wind. The most exciting part of the project was testing our sailboats in water! There was great anticipation as each boat was launched to see if it would float and move. The classroom was filled with excitement and cheers as the children watched their creations sail across the water. Some boats travelled quickly, while others needed a few design improvements, helping us to learn the importance of testing and refining our ideas. The children also engaged in a d...
