Garden Bird Projects

We are practising many skills during our garden bird groupwork projects. We are learning how to source information, rewrite key facts in our own words as well as building on sharing, listening, taking turns and working together. We are having great fun and we are learning lots about birds we see in our gardens and school grounds. Stay tuned for the finished projects!

Junior Achievement Programme

We have really enjoyed participating in the Junior Achievement programme this year. We have been doing the Our Families theme with Nessagh over the last 6 weeks and have really enjoyed learning all about the different ways we can help on our local communities, the difference between needs and wants as well as becoming entrepreneurs coming up with our own ideas for a cake business! We made thank you cards for Nessagh and gave them to her after our last session. We were all so delighted to receive our certificates!

Spring sowing

We have been learning all about the life cycle of the sunflower. We even planted our own sunflower seeds. Hopefully by the time summer comes we will have lovely sunflowers in our gardens! We also planted some peas and salad. Take a look at how they are coming along...

Readathon Character Dress Up Day

As part of our Readathon the girls and boys in first class had great fun dressing up as characters from their favourite books. They really enjoyed showing 2nd class what they dressed up as as well as seeing 2nd class' fantastic costumes too.  Don't they look amazing! Well done everyone!
