Junior Achievement Programme

We have really enjoyed participating in the Junior Achievement programme this year. We have been doing the Our Families theme with Nessagh over the last 6 weeks and have really enjoyed learning all about the different ways we can help on our local communities, the difference between needs and wants as well as becoming entrepreneurs coming up with our own ideas for a cake business! We made thank you cards for Nessagh and gave them to her after our last session. We were all so delighted to receive our certificates!

Garden Bird Projects

We are practising many skills during our garden bird groupwork projects. We are learning how to source information, rewrite key facts in our own words as well as building on sharing, listening, taking turns and working together. We are having great fun and we are learning lots about birds we see in our gardens and school grounds. Stay tuned for the finished projects!

Soil Experiment

We had great fun doing some outdoor learning in the sunshine. We worked in groups to collect a soil sample. We added water and waited patiently to see what would happen. We learned that soil is made up of lots of different materials and were amazed to see the different soil layers that settled in our jars. We even spotted some worms and a baby snail! It was very cool!

St Brigid's Crosses

Spring is here and we celebrated the feast of St Brigid by making St Brigid's crosses. We learned the story of St Brigid and sang Brigid's special song "We Sing a Song to Brigid."
