Safer Internet Day February 2026

We celebrated Safer Internet Day by taking part in the 1st and 2nd Class lesson provided by Webwise. The children learned about the importance of staying safe online, keeping personal information private, and being kind and respectful when communicating with others on the internet. They discussed what to do if something online makes them feel worried or uncomfortable and were reminded to always tell a trusted adult if they have a concern. The Kahoot quiz following the presentation was a fun way to consolidate the main messages of the session. The children then worked on an accompanying worksheet where they had the opportunity to design an internet safety character which they brought home to discuss what they learned in school about being safe online. They also were tasked with consulting with a parent to devise an internet safety rule they will endeavour follow at home.
