Summer Dioramas

The boys and girls were busy little bees this May as they dived into a fun and creative project — designing and building their very own "At the Beach" summer dioramas!

The children transformed shoe-boxes and recycled materials into miniature beach scenes with sandy shores, sun umbrellas, crabs, sandcastles, surfboards and undersea creatures to name but a few included. It was wonderful to see the children's creativity, spatial awareness and teamwork skills on show.

Take a look at their fantastic creations below!

Carol Service Practice

1st and 2nd Class have been working so hard learning their Christmas carols for the upcoming Carol Service. They are really looking forward to performing their carols in the church. They should be so proud of themselves.  They will sing Mary's Boy Child, Mary and Following a Star!

Penguin Art

Our penguins are waddling into winter. We experimented with mixing various shades of blue, purple and white to make the colours for our penguin backgrounds. We used black paper, white and orange paper to make our penguins and the snow and made cool scarves and hats for them.

Smarties Data

Learning about data peaked a lot of interest in rang a haon agus a dó when they realised smarties were involved! The children were very excited to receive a box of smarties to count and then they recorded how many of each colour they had on a block graph. They were amazed to discover that not every box has the same of each colour and the total amount of sweets in the box can also vary.
