2D Shapes

We have been busy learning about 2D shapes. We explored the properties of a circle, triangle, rectangle, triangle and semi-circle by making the shapes with playdough. We made a class 2D Shape chart where we recorded how many sides and corners each shape has as well as whether each shape has curved/straight lines. We enjoyed playing the game "Guess my Shape." We also had great fun making 2D Shape monsters using the shapes we learned about. We love how they all turned out so differently. We even gave our monsters names!

Christmas Jumper Day

The girls and boys looked very festive for a Christmas jumper day in aid of Galway Hospice. A great effort by everyone. Well done!

Carol Service Practice

1st and 2nd Class have been working so hard learning their Christmas carols for the upcoming Carol Service. They are really looking forward to performing their carols in the church. They should be so proud of themselves.  They will sing Mary's Boy Child, Mary and Following a Star!

Science Week

Great fun was had during Science Week in 1st and 2nd Class where the children made their own lava lamps, conducted the bouncy egg, the leak proof bag and magic milk experiments. The children worked very hard as scientists at home too and planned, conducted and recorded an experiment of their choosing which was screened in our classroom at the end of science week. We really enjoyed watching everyone's videos. Well done all!
